Our Veterinarians

Dr. Sankey graduated from University of Pennsylvania in 1986 and evolved his career throughout critical care and wellness hospitals, ultimately landing with us in 2012. His personal interests lie in soft tissue surgery, oral surgery, and long-term care. He has a particular soft spot for herding breeds, thanks to his loving Aussie, Freya.

Dr. Leonard graduated from University of Pennsylvania in 2009 and has worked in the Wyoming Valley ever since. His passions lie in pet dentistry / oral surgery, preventative medicine, and as boring at it seems to some... promoting pet insurance. His snuggly cats, Pickles and Relish keep him busy at home along with his bearded dragon, Sake.

Dr. Connie graduated with her DVM from Midwestern University in 2020 and quickly became a star clinician with her focus on internal medicine cases, pet dentistry, and preventative health. Her furbaby Frankie (pictured) is also a welcome addition to our team!

Dr. Yaple grew up in NY state, graduated with her veterinary degree in 2017 from Ross University in sunny St Kitts and made her way to NEPA to pursue Emergency and Critical Care Medicine. She joined our team in 2021 to expand her love of ECC while taking on family-style long-term care and as many puppies & kittens she can get her hands on!

Dr. Tyler Brzozowski is a proud Pennsylvania native, born and raised in Plains, PA. He is a 2024 graduate from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine which is located on the gorgeous island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean, completing his clinical year at Colorado State University. His interests in veterinary medicine span across all species and include many specialties such as surgery and internal medicine. In his free time, he enjoys many hobbies including model railroading, hiking, fishing, videogames and of course spending time with his fur babies. He has a beautiful yellow lab named Piper, and two adorable cats, Jaxson and Greyson. He is excited and privileged to be providing veterinary services to his hometown community!

Our Technical Team

Our technicians are humble (and a bit shy) so, for now, keep putting off their individual bios, but we really do love them all! 

​From our certified veterinary technicians, to our job-trained technicians, and our technician assistants too... they are all SO very important in the high level of care you expect from Westside Veterinary Hospital.  These heroes are the ones drawing your pet's blood, running samples through our complex laboratory equipment, taking radiographs of your pet, and administering all manners of oral, topical, and intravenous treatments to keep them healthy.  A veterinary technician wears so many hats, they are almost impossible to list.  Just know, behind every great veterinarian are 2 to 3 absolutely amazing technicians keeping your furry/feathered friend safe and secure while they're here. 

Our Customer Service Team

The first and last people you'll have the pleasure of speaking with each time you're here is our incredible Customer Care Associate team. 

Our CCA's go above and beyond the typical customer service representative, ensuring you are truly cared for from start to finish with your pet.  They will be the ones learning your names, your pets faces, even their barks and meows as they enter our lobby and are there from the happiest moments to the sad along side you, our Westside family.  We are so proud of the care each and every CCA takes with our clients and their pets to ensure accurate information, timely correspondence with our phone tree, texting line, and PHNPro App for all your pet wellness and illness needs.
